Welp. It’s semi-offical. We’re ‘moved’.
Next time, i think I’ll hire someone to do it. My legs hurt for days from walking up and down the stairs. But, honestly it wasn’t too bad. Besides the fact that i had the worst u-haul ever.
I ordered the largest u-haul that I could. 26FT of pure moving enjoyment. Why? Because I figure as always, bigger is better. Well… Not always the case. The truck was a 1804 International. It had 289,XXX miles on the clock, and what looked like 5.2 billion miles on the outside. It was for all things considered, an Antique of the moving world. It was a manual trans 5 speed. Now, I’ve driven a couple doulbe bottom semis in my day, mostly on the farm for moving corn. But this is probably the biggest truck i’ve driven on the expressway etc. Why would they give average Joe a stick-shift death truck of 26 foot? Anyway… It sucked. By the end of the trip it was spewing anti-freeze into the cab, the windshield whipers had stopped moving midstride, and, it smelled of nasty trash in the interior. But, it did run and drive, so i guess it got the job done.
Other than that, the job now, is just to figure out where to put all our stuff. Right now the kitchen is pretty much done, and there’s more boxes than i care to ever see again in the 2nd bed-room… But, in other priorties, the cable & internet are up and running!
So, now the question remains… How long until it’s completely moved in, and how much longer before we have to do it all over again?
